When we got to the station, we were met by my grandma’s friends who work for the Hotel Granvia Kyoto, the place we always stay at. It is so nice that they take our suitcases and send them to the hotel for us.

I’ve been to both places twice before, but I haven’t been since high school so it was nice to see it again. This is my first time in Japan in the fall, so it was great to experience those sites in cooler weather. Of course, these places are super touristy so they are very crowded, but it is something you have to see at least once if you come to Kyoto.

The hotel food is of course expensive but they give some discounts. It was so nice that my grandma’s friend who works for the hotel was able to sit with us for a little bit as she is very hard working and busy. I hope to be very successful like her in a job I love after I graduate. It is a shame that I won’t be able to stay in Kyoto a bit longer so I can explore and get to know my grandma’s friends more, but I must go back to Tokyo and work hard.

All of this has nothing to do with what I’ve done but rather is attributed to how much she has dedicated her life to running her business. I am so undeserving of these experiences and yet I somehow keep seeing more and more. I hope to be able to meet all these people again.
